Thanksgiving 2007

For anyone who reads this, I know I haven’t been writing everyday like I originally intended. My wife so graciously pointed that out to me last night. But between work and school and now being sick for the past 3 days, I just haven’t felt like logging on and writing anything.

I was listening to this podcast a few minutes ago, The Tech Guy Podcast, hosted by Leo Laporte, and I was struck by something he said. He said with the invention of the blog everyone has a voice. We no longer have to be on CNN or Oprah to be heard. But at the same time I thought about how there are so many people out there who has the time to read my little blog about only stuff  I care about?

I always like to start at the top and work my way down. So when it comes to blogging or design or basic life I have a hard time starting something that seems so overwhelming. I think “if it’s not great then what’s it worth?” But without ever starting then you can never finish, and that’s what I’m overcoming.  Like right now, I’m sick, have been for three days now, but I know it will eventually run its course and I’ll get to feeling better.

Maybe that’s a bad analogy, but I don’t care right now. My whole body aches and feels tired, and I can’t seem to get enough sleep. Maybe this Thanksgiving Holiday was a time for me to slow down and rest. Let my body catch up with how fast I’ve been going.

Well, I hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving Day and a nice long weekend. Take care.

Hand Job: A Catalog of Type

picture of book

I got this book last week in the mail and have been glued to its pages ever since. It’s full of wonderful hand drawn fonts and illustrations. Full of inspiration for anyone interested in making things by hand. I recommend it.
